Netflix has dropped one episode of Designated Survivor from its streaming service following a backlash from the Turkish government.
The episode in question is the seventh instalment of season 2, titled 'Family Ties', which features a fictitious Turkish president who is portrayed as a villain.
In the episode, the leader named Fatih Turan (played by Troy Caylak) comes under criticism from the country's opposition when visiting the US to attend a NATO Summit.

In response to complaints from the Turkish regulator, Netflix pulled the episode on Thursday (April 30). However, it will remain on all other versions of the steaming platform across the world.
"Following a demand from the Turkish regulator, we have removed one episode of Designated Survivor from Netflix in Turkey only, to comply with local law," Netflix said in a statement.
The statement went on to say that the full Kiefer Sutherland-led political series "is still available on our service in the rest of the world".

Netflix cancelled Designated Survivor in July last year, shortly after finishing its third season on the streaming platform.
"We are proud to have offered fans a third season of Designated Survivor, and will continue to carry all three seasons for years to come," Netflix said in a statement at the time.
"We're especially thankful to star and executive producer Kiefer Sutherland, who brought passion, dedication and an unforgettable performance as President Kirkman."
Designated Survivor is available to watch on Netflix.
