Netflix's Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness is taking over our lives during isolation, but while we're only just beginning to learn about the madness that is Doc Antle, Britney Spears was introduced to him nearly 20 years ago – when he was in her iconic performance of 'I'm a Slave 4 U' at the 2001 MTV VMAs.

While Britney danced on stage with Banana the Burmese Python (the big yellow one across her shoulders, FYI), Doc was inside the cage with her and a golden tabby tiger (a fact that's also namechecked in a 2015 Rolling Stone profile of him).

Check it out for yourself – it's about 23 seconds into this video:

Incredibly, it also seemed – for a short while – that Britney had another Tiger King connection when a picture emerged showing her sitting next to someone who looked like Carole Baskin at the 2002 VMAs. The photo did the rounds on Twitter, and fans were well and truly shook.

Turns out though, that one's false. Representatives for Carole have since said it's not her, so we guess that's that.

Still, we'd love to hear Britney's take on the whole thing, but she seems to be keeping shtum for now.

Her social media pages have been surprisingly quiet, despite the fact that she's surely getting a bajillion notifications right now. Brit, don't leave us poor binge-watchers hanging!
