If you asked someone what the first thing that comes in to someone's head when you mention the words The Witcher, they would currently probably say the adverts for some Netflix show with Henry Cavill in a wig.
But rewind a few weeks or months and if you asked the same question, we'd imagine they wouldn't mention the books, but that video game with the hunky man in the bathtub.

It's an iconic and hugely memed moment, that was of course translated into the TV adaptation (it's in episode 5 in case you were wondering). Of course, when speaking about the series with showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, we had to ask about that tub.
"It's so funny," she exclusively told Digital Spy,"because obviously it was a meme from the video games. What's great is that in that short story of 'The Last Wish', Geralt is in a bathtub. Yennefer insists that he bathes.
"So it was a perfect moment to be able to take something from the original short stories, but also give a wink and a nod to the video game audience, because we just want them to know that we see them too, you know?

"We know that they're out there. Especially as an American myself, most American audiences only know The Witcher from the video games, versus a European audience that oftentimes will know about the books as well. So it was great to be able to balance those two different fan bases out.
"And everyone is happy with Henry Cavill in a bathtub, let's be honest."
She's not wrong there.
