Arrowverse's Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover reveals first official look at Smallville's Tom Welling

Smallville's Tom Welling is ready to save somebody in a brand new look at the Arrowverse's epic Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover event.

After nearly a decade, Welling is making his return as Clark Kent in the multi-night event on The CW as one of three Supermen who will attempt to rescue the Multiverse from the grips of the Anti-Monitor.

The first official promo photo of Welling as Clark was unveiled on Tuesday (November 19), and is likely to excite Smallville fans by showing him back at work on the Kent family farm. Check it out below:

Crisis on Infinite Earths will also feature the return of Smallville's Lois Lane (Erica Durance) when the Smallville couple cross paths with Supergirl's Lois (Elizabeth Tulloch) and Clark (Tyler Hoechlin), in addition to Brandon Routh playing the Kingdom Come-era Superman. Super-overload, anyone?

Also released on Tuesday was another sneak peek showing Batman: The Animated Series' iconic voice actor Kevin Conroy in live action as the Kingdom Come-era Bruce Wayne, wearing part of his armoured Batsuit.

The Monitor and Anti-Monitor actor LaMonica Garrett has previously chatted with Digital Spy about the impact the crossover event will have on the entire Arrowverse moving forward.

"There's 'before Crisis' and 'after Crisis'. [The crossover] is going to affect everyone and every show, but it's going to affect each of them differently," he teased.

"And that's going to be fun, to watch how it all unfolds and the outcome of each show from the Crisis!"

'Crisis on Infinite Earths' premieres on December 8 with the Supergirl episode, followed by Batwoman on December 9 and The Flash on December 10. Post-Christmas, the series will then conclude with Arrow and DC's Legends of Tomorrow straight after on January 14.
