After months of waiting, Disney has finally confirmed when its new streaming service Disney+ will be launching in the UK.
With the US counting down the days until its launch on November 12, and it landing in Australia and New Zealand just a week later, it looks like the UK has a slightly longer wait on its hands, as the service will drop on March 31, 2020.
Disney CEO Bob Iger confirmed the date today (November 7) during a company conference call to discuss quarterly results, and it will launch in all major Europe markets – including the UK, Germany, France, Italy and Spain – at the same time.

Disney has already confirmed a wealth of shows and movies for its Disney+ service, with the much-anticipated Star Wars series The Mandalorian hitting the platform on its US launch day, before releasing a new episode every week.
The eight-episode order means the series will have premiered in full by the time the service launches in the UK, which hopefully means we'll be able to binge-watch the show in full on launch day.

Other projects for the UK to look forward to on March 31 are the live-action Lady and the Tramp remake and a new High School Musical series, while Marvel shows centring on Loki, Hawkeye and Falcon and the Winter Soldier are all in the works, along with an Obi-Wan Kenobi series starring Ewan McGregor too.
Alongside the available TV series, over 300 movies will be released on the platform on launch day in the US – including Avengers: Endgame – but in its announcement of the UK launch date, Disney adds that "titles may vary by territory", which is no doubt a result of Disney's existing licencing agreements.
When all of those expire, however, users can expect to access a whole wealth of classic movies, TV shows and animations alongside the new projects in the works – and let's not forget that The Simpsons and other Fox entertainment titles all fall under the Disney umbrella now too.
Disney+ launches on November 12 in the US, and on March 31, 2020 in the UK.
