The Arrowverse's 'Crisis on Infinite Earth' crossover will definitely feature Lex Luthor… but only one, apparently.

The five-part event will bring together heroes and villains from multiple universes this December, including Jon Cryer reprising his Supergirl role as the megalomaniacal Lex.

But before Jon landed the role of Superman's arch-nemesis, Michael Rosenbaum played the young Lex for the better part of a decade on The CW's prequel series Smallville.

While the Arrowverse has referenced Smallville in the past, there were recent reports that it would directly incorporate the show for 'Crisis' by having Rosenbaum's Lex appear in the crossover.

Unfortunately, it seems like there's no truth to any of this. Rosenbaum poked fun at the reports on Twitter with a cheeky reference to his successor Jon Cryer.

"First I've heard of this... Cryer you know something I don't? Anyone? @MrJonCryer," he tweeted.

What to Read Next

Although it's disappointing that Smallville's iconic Lex probably won't be returning, 'Crisis on Infinite Earth' will feature some really exciting crossovers and Easter eggs for fans.

Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch will return as Superman and Lois Lane, while Brandon Routh is actually going to reprise his title role from Superman Returns as well as play The Atom.

Plus, Batman 66's Robin actor Burt Ward will make a special appearance, as will Batman: The Animated Series voice actor Kevin Conroy in live-action as a future version of the Caped Crusader.

The first three instalments of the 'Crisis on Infinite Earth' crossover are set to air this December, while the remaining two will debut in January 2020.
