What to Read Next
Netflix officially confirmed a second season on November 30, 2017, posting a cryptic video on Twitter with the statement: "We need to talk to more subjects."
Regarding the second season's plot, director David Fincher told Billboard that it will address the real-life events of 79-81, two years after season one – and he also touched on the use of music.
"Next year we're looking at the Atlanta child murders, so we'll have a lot more African-American music which will be nice," he said.
"The music will evolve. It's intended to support what's happening with the show and for the show to evolve radically between seasons."
The Atlanta child murders, despite the name, were a series of 28 killings of African-American children, teenagers and adults. John Douglas, the criminal profiler on which Jonathan Groff's character Holden Ford was based, was closely involved in profiling the killer and was officially reprimanded over his conduct during the case.
Mindhunter season one is available to stream on Netflix now.
