Killing Eve spoilers below.
There was never any doubt that Killing Eve would be returning for season three. The spy thriller performed incredibly well both here in the UK and across the pond, and ratings, as we all know, are king. Or indeed queen.
And, lest we forget, there was THAT whopping cliffhanger at the end of season two, which had fans of the show crying out for answers.
The third season has a brand-new showrunner, officially solidifying the tradition of a new head writer for every season.
"I'm very excited that the Killing Eve baton is being passed onto another incredible writer for season three," said executive producer Phoebe Waller-Bridge. "We can sleep soundly knowing these characters are safe in Suzanne Heathcote's hilariously murderous hands."
Heathcote was part of the writing team for Fear the Walking Dead's well-received third season, and will take over from Emerald Fennell, showrunner for season two. Waller-Bridge was showrunner during the first season.

Fennell also praised the idea of having a different showrunner per season, saying: "It's been such an exciting year for me on Killing Eve. I think it's cool that this tradition has been built into this untraditional show.
"Inheriting some of Phoebe's characters was a treat – I can't wait to see what Suzanne does next."
Here's everything you need to know about Killing Eve season three.
Killing Eve season 3 release date: When will it air?
One of the major issues for UK Killing Eve fans was the big gap (usually a couple of months) between the show airing in the US and it showing up in the UK.
But that's not the case for season three.
It will first hit screens in the US on Sunday, April 12, before heading to BBC iPlayer in the UK at 6am on Monday, April 13.
Killing Eve's season three premiere will also get a primetime BBC One outing on Saturday, April 19 at 9pm, with episodes following weekly after that.
Killing Eve season 3 plot: What will happen?
The show has already deviated from the books in a number of different ways – whether it's gender-switching characters, inventing completely new ones or completely changing canon relationships – leaving many wondering what could possibly happen next.
But finally, we have the official synopsis: "For Villanelle, the assassin without a job, Eve is dead. As for Eve, the ex-MI6 operative is hiding in plain sight, hoping that Villanelle will never find her.
"All seems fine until a shocking death sets them on a collision course yet again. The journey back to each other will cost both of them friends, family, and allegiances. And perhaps a share of their souls."
Season two showrunner Emerald Fennell previously chatted to The Hollywood Reporter about whether season three would finally deliver the Eve-Villanelle tag team we've all been dreaming of.
"As a writer and as someone who's obsessed with the show in general and with Jodie and Sandra and their electric chemistry, of course we all want them to do a Bonnie and Clyde and a sort of Natural Born Killers and go on a rampage wearing couture," he said.
"[But] what ruins it for Eve, for both of them, really, is it becoming real.
"Even though they're in these ruins, even though they're in the most beautiful city in the world, even though it's meant to be that the path is cleared for them, it's madness. The sheer madness of it is suddenly completely apparent. But you can only see that when you get what you want."
She added: "One of them is a psychopath and one isn't. Psychologically, you can't shy away from the fact that they are different creatures fundamentally, on a chemical level. It remains to be seen to what extent Villanelle has been changed by Eve."
Jodie Comer gave some insight to EW in terms of what to expect in season three after THAT cliffhanger.
"I can't really say too much because of obviously how and where are we going to take this story. But it's a question of: How much does Eve mean to Villanelle? Everyone who watches the show has a different view and their own interpretation, and they feel that it is love and it is deep and it is meaningful.
"And then there was another side to it that is very twisted. Does Villanelle understand the concept of love? She's very warped in relationships and her connections to people.
"What I do believe of Villanelle, though, is her life is the most important thing to her. So maybe she was going to let it go to the very last breath. But I think in that moment, she needs help, and Eve sees that. And you have to see that in order for that moment to be believable."
Such scenes aren't easy, of course.
"It was such a huge, huge moment to film, and it was shot over a couple of days. It's so crazy, energetic, strenuous. After that shot of Villanelle being strangled, everyone was like, 'Now we can believe that this woman is driven to this impulse of saving her', because she is literally turning purple.
"It's that thing of: You believe someone's dead, then you live with the fact that someone's dead and then they're not," the actress added. "How do you come back from that? How does that change your relationship that you once had? Does it? Is there a new opportunity? Is there a chance or is there a need to finish what you did? That's probably going to be the biggest thing for Villanelle."
Whatever happens, it's safe to say that the two leads will be sticking around even longer than expected. At the start of 2020, the BBC revealed that Killing Eve has been renewed for a fourth outing ahead of its third season.
"How could we not have massive confidence in Killing Eve? It has won big in every major award show and is the highest growing show on US television for six years," Sarah Barnett, president of AMC Networks Entertainment Group and AMC Studios, said (via The Hollywood Reporter).
"The reason for this series' emphatic embrace is the brilliant women who breathed it into being: Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Emerald Fennell, Sandra Oh, Jodie Comer, Fiona Shaw and its fairy godmother, executive producer Sally Woodward Gentle.
"Season three lead writer Suzanne Heathcote takes Eve, Villanelle and Carolyn to places more thrilling, twisted and surprising than ever. Our addicted fans will not be disappointed."
Killing Eve season 3 cast: Who's in it?
Despite season two's cliffhanger, we now know that Oh will be back as intelligence officer Eve Polastri, and Jodie Comer's Villanelle has always been a guarantee.
Chatting to The Mirror about her character, Comer said: "She may be a cold-blooded killer, but you can also appreciate that her victims perhaps deserve to die.
"She doesn't kill people randomly; there's a reason and conviction behind her actions.
"What I think resonates with women is her honesty and unfiltered reactions to others – she lives according to her own set of rules and does as she please. I admire that."
She added: "There's a lot of fun in getting to play someone like that who lives so boldly and does so many outrageous things.
"I think that most people are able to appreciate that about her and her mischievous side, even though she is very dangerous, of course."
Comer also teased (via Vogue UK) that audiences will see "a different side" to her character in the new episodes.
"We kind of delve into [Villanelle's past] a little bit," she said. "The audience love what they love about her, but it's been nice to show a different side to that. Maybe a little bit of vulnerability."
Kim Bodnia will also be back as Konstantin, and Fiona Shaw as MI6 agent, Carolyn Martens. There's certainly a massive plot thread that needs resolving following the events of season two.
They will appear alongside Eve's husband Niko, played by Owen McDonnell, and Sean Delaney as Kenny.
Fingers crossed that we'll finally get our wish and see show creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge on the show.
She has revealed that she wants to write herself into season three of the hit drama so she can be brutally killed by Jodie Comer's Villanelle.
Speaking to The Mirror, she said: "I was like, I am going to write myself a part so that I can be murdered by Jodie."
Excitingly, some new faces have also been added to the cast: Dame Harriet Walter (Succession, The Crown), Danny Sapani (Harlots, The Crown), Gemma Whelan (White House Farm, Gentleman Jack), Camille Cottin (Call My Agent!), Steve Pemberton (Inside No. 9), Raj Bajaj (A Christmas Prince), Turlough Convery (Sanditon), Pedja Bjelac (Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire), and Evgenia Dodina.
