Fox has just released a teaser image for Gotham's eight episode from the fifth and final season of the series.
The image shows a scene from next week's episode 'Nothing's Shocking', which will air on Thursday, February 28 on Fox in the US.
And it actually comes with quite a big surprise as it reveals the debut of a classic Batman villain – The Ventriloquist.

The Ventriloquist looks a lot like Mr Penn, a skilled accountant who worked for Carmine Falcone, Oswald Cobblepot and Sofia Falcone. Has Mr Penn returned from the dead?
Also pictured is The Ventriloquist's dummy Scarface, who helps the villain with planning and executing all of his crimes.

Elsewhere, Gotham executive producer John Stephens has offered some insight into Jeremiah's journey during the current fifth season.
"We'll start to see Jeremiah pretty much the next episode," he told TV Guide. "We start to understand that he's doing a larger plot that's going on, but we will see him the next episode and then carry through."
"You never see a full transformation into the Joker, but you do see another transformation," Stephens elaborated.
"Jeremiah undergoes another evolution in his character to become another amalgam of Jeremiah and Jerome that I think audiences are gonna look at and say, 'If it's not the Joker then it's definitely an antecedent or a proto-Joker that lives there'."
Gotham season 5 airs on Fox in the US. No release date has been announced for the UK yet.
