If you happened to watch the Netflix documentary Fyre Festival: The Greatest Party That Never Happened and think 'WOW, I wish I could've been there', then Ja Rule has some great news for you.

The rapper and "hip-hop mogul" (to quote him directly) is apparently planning a Fyre Festival round two, and promises it will be "iconic". Wait, what?

ICYMI first time around, the original Fyre Festival was set up by Billy McFarland and Ja Rule, and was their attempt at putting on a Coachella-style festival on a private island in the Bahamas.

They promised yacht parties with models, high-end catering and performances from huge musical acts. In reality, they delivered flooded tents with no bedding, a severe lack of food and water, and no accommodation for over 300 paying guests. A bit of a shambles, right?

Er, not according to Ja Rule, who is already planning a Fyre Festival 2.0. Speaking to TMZ, the rapper said he's proud of his connection to the event, and is standing by what happened.

He said: "I’m not ashamed of Fyre at all. Because man, the idea, it was brilliant. It was f**king beyond brilliant… It was amazing, but it wasn’t what I dreamed it of being, and what I envisioned of it being, and what I wanted it to be. It wasn’t done properly."

He then went on to tease a second Fyre Festival, adding that although he is heartbroken over what happened, he's seeing this as an opportunity to try again.

"It’s not funny to me, It’s heartbreaking to me," he said. "It’s something that I wanted to be special and amazing, it didn’t turn out that way. In the midst of chaos, there’s opportunity. [Fyre] is the most iconic festival that never was. I have plans to create the iconic festival, but you didn’t hear that from me."
