DC has cast S.W.A.T. star Lou Ferrigno Jr in the role of Hourman for new DC Universe show Stargirl.
The character, aka Rex Tyler, is a thrill-seeking superhero and master chemist who can manifest super strength for just one hour a day.
According to TVLine, Ferrigno Jr will play the role – and he has an interesting family history of superheroes. After all, his namesake and father (Lou Ferrigno Sr) played The Incredible Hulk in the 70s/80s CBS TV series.
Ferrigno Jr joins Brec Bassinger in the new series, who will play the titular role of Stargirl, aka Courtney Whitmore.
The character is an ordinary teen who discovers that her stepfather used to be a superhero and borrows his Cosmic Staff, becoming a superhero herself.
The character's creator Geoff Johns will be writing the first episode of the show, and recently opened up about casting Bassigner.
