The Punisher's beloved dog Max was given an uncertain fate on Daredevil after being taken away by the Kitchen Irish.
However, fans can rest assured that the pooch appears to be alive and well, as a new behind-the-scenes picture from The Punisher season two reveals.
In the photo, we see star Jon Bernthal sitting on steps with the dog, looking as menacing as ever.
Earlier this year, the actor revealed why they made Max disappear on Daredevil, saying at ACE Comic Con back in January (via ComicBook.com): "I really am sad about that, man. That sucked.
"He was a cool dog, too. He was supposed to come back at the end of that episode, when the police are coming.

"They couldn't get the dog to sit still, they just couldn't get the dog to do it, and they let the dog go. I thought it was such a big mistake, I miss seeing that dog. Yeah, it sucked."
Either way, it'll be nice for Frank Castle to have a canine sidekick in season two – let's just hope he doesn't disappear again.
Earlier this month, behind-the-scenes photos from The Punisher gave us a first look at a pivotal season two character as the Netflix series continues production.
As well as new faces such as Supergirl's Floriana Lima and Scream's Giorgia Whigham, the show recently added Smallville's Annette O'Toole and LA Law's Corbin Bernsen. They join returning cast Bernthal, Ben Barnes, Amber Rose Revah and Jason R Moore.
Marvel's The Punisher season two will stream all of its episodes worldwide on Netflix. The first season is available on Netflix now.
