The Only Way Is Essex star Mario Falcone has suggested that Jake Hall's jealousy is a way of showing that he cares about his on-off girlfriend Chloe Lewis.
Mario got dragged into the couple's rows recently when he spoke to Chloe on a night out, making Jake angry.
"I didn't do anything!" Mario told Digital Spy today. "I just said, 'Hello, how was Marbella?' I breathed in her direction the other day - big mistake."
As Ferne joked that even she'd get in trouble if she danced with Chloe, Mario went on to say that he actually admires Jake's jealousy in some ways.
"The thing is, she says all this stuff about how jealous he is and how he kicks off every time he sees her talking to a guy or whatever, but I sort of find that quite admirable to an extent, because most guys in Essex play the whole, 'Do what you want, I don't give a s**t, I'll one up you'," he said. "Whereas I think he wears his heart on his sleeve and shows he really loves her and cares.
"But at the same time, you can't live like that surely. If I have one argument with my girlfriend, I get in a bad mood for ages and I want to break up with her straight away, let alone having one every day."
What to Read Next
Meanwhile, Ferne said that she was going to "tread very carefully" but described Jake and Chloe's relationship as "volatile".
"I think everyone just leaves them to it now, because if anyone was to say anything, you would be a s**t stirrer, you would be getting involved," she said. "You're on a reality show - people are going to talk about your relationship. And they're a weird one. In my eyes, if you don't get on, if you're jealous of each other, and all you seem to have is agg for many years, really, why are you together?"
Ferne suggested that both Jake and Chloe are guilty of double standards, while Mario said: "I think they're as bad as each other. I don't think he's the bad one - I think they're pretty even."
Mario also hinted that he had heard "a lot more stuff that we can't put on camera" but remained tight-lipped about what he was talking about.
Meanwhile, Ferne concluded: "I think initially everyone wanted to blame him but as the story goes on I think you're seeing both sides.
"Chloe and Jake release their emotions completely differently. Jake gets angry and gets built up where Chloe cries, and I think that whoever cries, often the public and the rest of the cast around them is going to take to the one who looks more upset."
The Only Way Is Essex airs on Sundays and Wednesdays at 10pm on ITVBe.
