Hayley Hughes' Love Island comment about Brexit meaning no trees might have been the strangest thing to come out of the villa in 2018, but according to one MP, we have bigger EU-related things to talk about.

In fact, she thinks the future of the summer series could be in jeopardy when we leave the European Union in 2019.

Labour's Jess Phillips – a fan of the show – told The Mirror that being on Love Island is considered employment, but leaving the EU will make it harder for British citizens to be employed outside of the UK.

Jess said: "To work in another country will be much more difficult and Love Island, I think, would be considered to be work."
