The Britain's Got Talent live semi-finals begin tonight (May 28), and we'll see the first batch of 40 contestants compete for a chance at the grand prize.

One of the hopefuls is Shameer Rayes, who hugely impressed the judges and the audience in his audition, earning a standing ovation for his solo dance act.

While he is excited about being in tonight's live show, he does admit to feeling guilty about getting so far when his brother Shaquille didn't make it that far.

"I remember feeling so guilty when I got home because I knew he really wanted to do well," Shameer told Digital Spy.

"But the way he had composed himself, he was kind to me and said to me: 'Shameer, you deserve this. The royal variety show is more suited to it – you've been dancing your whole life, you deserve this amazing experience. I have not been singing all that long but you are born to do this.' He's been so supportive, he's a great brother."

Shameer added that the brothers would consider auditioning for The X Factor together.

"We want to see where we can go with it. We are different. We're a good balance. I can't wait to see what happens next."
