Big Brother star Lateysha Grace was interrogated over her controversial new reality show on Good Morning Britain today (May 9).

MTV's series Million Dollar Baby follows the former BB housemate on her mission to make her 2-year-old daughter Wynter rich and famous.

However, when Lateysha came into the ITV studios to talk about the programme, the presenters didn't sound overly impressed with the concept – particularly Piers Morgan.

"Aren't you installing a horrible, ruthless commercial streak in her?" he asked.

Lateysha then defended herself, insisting her intentions are good and that every penny made was going straight into a savings account for Wynter's future.

But Piers didn't appear convinced that this was an entirely selfless act.

"Well, it is about you as well..." he commented. "You've cut away any right she has to privacy."

The presenter then grilled Lateysha about the possibility of Internet trolls targeting her daughter and whether she had given this any thought when making her decision.

"Do you worry about the trolls?" he added. "When you put your child on social media at that age at every minute of the day – how could you? You know there are trolls out there and they are just going to target you."

Susanna Reid also cast doubt over whether Million Dollar Baby was a good idea and whether Wynter should have a social media account.

"It's not a normal life, you're living it online," she chipped in. "Children aren't supposed to have these accounts until they're 13."

Journalist Sally Jones also joined the trio in the studio, and was quick to shoot down Lateysha and her new show, asking whether she had considered the potential downsides of putting Wynter in the spotlight at such a young age.

She said: "This is specifically to monetise a little child. There's an absolute epidemic of little girls with mental health problems who are too aware of their appearance. Wait till she gets trolled, wait until she has the misery of turning into a plump 9-year-old when everyone goes after because she's been this superstar..."

Despite the criticism though, Lateysha stuck to her guns and stressed that her intentions for Wynter are good.

"This isn't a bad thing," she emphasised. "I am making money for her future. If I ever felt it was affecting her mental health, I would put a complete stop to it.

"She is such a happy child. Everyone that meets her say she looks so happy, she's so content."

Judging by Twitter, those tuning in at home were divided by the debate.

Some were very much for the idea of Lateysha choosing this particular path to provide for her daughter financially:

Of course, others weren't so keen on the concept:
