Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway was replaced by The Voice UK this weekend as Ant McPartlin returned to rehab after being charged with drink driving.

The Voice took Takeaway's slot on March 24, moving down to 7pm from its original time of 8.30pm.

Despite that, the singing competition's viewing figures dropped to a series low, with the episode at 9pm pulling in an average of just 4.1 million viewers (including ITV+1).

This means that The Voice UK figures were down 600,000 week-on-week with a peak audience of 4.5 million.

The previous Saturday saw Ant & Dec's show claiming the top watched programme on TV with a peak of 7.9 million viewers.

Saturday Night Takeaway is returning to screens next weekend on March 31 for the penultimate episode of the series. Guests include Paloma Faith (for the End of the Show Show) and Stephen Merchant (as the Star Announcer), while The Script will swing by for the 'Singalong Live!' segment.

In a statement released last week (March 21), Dec confirmed: "Whilst I never thought I'd be in this position, after much discussion and careful consideration we've decided that the remaining two shows of this series of Saturday Night Takeaway will go ahead.

"We made a promise to take hundreds of deserving winners to Florida to watch the series finale, and we will honour that.

"Everyone at ITV and the Takeaway team feels we owe it to the audience to complete the series."
