Jennifer Hudson was such a smashing success on The Voice UK this year that she's jumping over to the US version too.

The Academy Award winner was announced as the latest superstar to join the NBC reality competition on Wednesday (May 10), ahead of NBC's big Upfronts presentation to the press next week.

J-Hud is getting another spinning red chair, this time alongside The Voice's original coaches Blake Shelton and Adam Levine as well as returning favourite Miley Cyrus.

NBC president Paul Telegdy made the big announcement: "Jennifer is an extraordinary vocal talent and one of the premier voices of our time. She embodies the experience, expertise, positivity and sheer talent that The Voice stands for.

"Her exceptional skills as a singer and actress have extended to film, television and Broadway, which makes her an incredible addition and a natural fit for our show."

Hudson is fresh off her first series of The Voice over in the UK, where she was paired with will.i.am, Sir Tom Jones and Gavin Rossdale as the competition was rebranded for its big move from the BBC to ITV.
