Tonight's episode of The Voice kicked off with an INCREDIBLE gospel performance from duo Capital B.

The university friends wowed the judges with a stunning rendition of 'His Eye is on the Sparrow', which had both Tom and Gavin spinning.

Long-time judge Tom made his sales pitch by promising to provide them with plenty of gospel songs to pick from.

"You sing great together, you really do. And the harmony is very unusual."

will.i.am chipped in with a quick and witty 'it's not unusual' joke which had everyone chuckling in the audience.

He continued: "I love gospel music and I loved the song that you picked.

"I think it really did you justice and you brought something different to it and that's what made me turn around.

"If you come on my team we can get some great gospel songs because I know a lot of them and I've sang duets with all kinds of people so it's endless what you to can do."

Gavin said their performance "lifted him up" and he just had to turn for them.

However, the girls admitted they really wanted Jennifer Hudson to mentor them, which was a little bit awkward.

Taking it in her stride, JHud immediately offered her advice on who they should pick.

"For you? Tom any day."

Though she did admit she might steal them when he wasn't looking, but team Tom had it's first act of the night.
