What an opener eh? Let It Shine was back for a second week tonight (January 14) with the judges giving full marks straight off the bat to the first act of the night.
And that act just so happened to be 25-year-old Jonnie Halliwell from Rotherham, who charmed the judges from the moment he walked on stage and revealed what he does for a living.
"Strawberries and cream, living the dream," he replied leaving Amber Riley (and all of us, if we're honest) looking a little confused before adding: "I sell ice cream!"
But ice cream isn't his only passion as Jonnie revealed he's also performed in White Christmas on the West End, but it didn't come without its difficulties.
"It's a difficult game, isn't it, to stay as a regular entertainer? I've been jobbing around for auditions and stuff and keep knocking on that door."
So, his latest knocking opportunity is to give this Let It Shine thing a go, and he launched into his performance of Jackie Wilson's 'Reet Petite'.

And somehow, we don't think he'll struggle with making it as a regular entertainer anymore, what with his '50s-style jive and his doo-wopping that even managed to get Dannii Minogue out her chair.

And with a performance like that the judges were obviously completely wowed, giving him the first perfect score of the night, with Gary Barlow in particular bestowing the high praise of: "You have got it all, my friend."
So does this mean the ice cream-selling days are behind him?
"I just want to be up there and not going three pounds please," he said afterwards. Here's hoping.
Let It Shine airs on BBC One.
