Just hours after Strictly Come Dancing finished on Saturday night (November 19), professional dancer Gorka Marquez was reportedly attacked by a gang in Blackpool.

According to The Sun, two of Gorka's teeth were smashed in the street attack and he is due to have dental surgery on Monday.

It is thought that he was attacked as he walked to a nightclub in Blackpool with fellow dancers Aljaz Skorjanec and Neil Jones.

The attack is said to have been completely unprovoked and caught the group by surprise.

A BBC spokesperson told Digital Spy: "Gorka was sadly the victim of an unprovoked incident in Blackpool on Saturday night, but he will be back in training this week and is looking forward to the group routine next weekend."

This year saw the Spanish dancer partnered with EastEnders actress Tameka Empson before the pair were eliminated from the competition in the second week.

Earlier on Saturday night, Gorka had wowed with his dance alongside Janette Manrara in a routine to a Rick Astley song.

He also partnered Anastacia in week 5 after Brendan Cole was unable to dance while recovering from a lung infection.
