Jay McGuinness and Aliona Vilani just performed their classic Pulp Fiction jive on Strictly Come Dancing once again, showing all the celebrities of the 2016 series exactly what it takes to win the show.

The pair are currently reigning champions of the reality TV show, and the first time they performed hive last series earned the former Wanted singer the first 10 of the series.

So when it comes to what to perform on tonight's launch show, we're sure there was no question.

After another incredible rendition of their best-known dance, Jay and Aliona stopped for a chat with hosts Tess Daley and Claudia Winkleman, with Jay calling the return a "really nice groundhog day".

"It's lovely though," he added.

And it was an especially bittersweet return for Aliona, as this series marks the first series she won't be dancing in after seven years.

"I had an amazing seven years," she reflected. "Jay helped me raise the glitter ball a second time. I'll miss it, but good luck to everyone - I'm sure it'll be an amazing series."

So, after all that, does Jay have any words of wisdom for this year's group?

"Support each other," he said. "Root for one another when you watch each other and enjoy it. I remember Caroline Flack said you won't experience anything like it again - and she was right."

The Strictly contestants found out which of the professionals they were paired up with on tonight's launch show, and now they have three weeks to go away and practice to show the judges what they're made of.

Strictly Come Dancing airs on BBC One.
