The Voice UK's Top 12 have officially been chosen after Boy George and will.i.am finalised their teams in tonight's second Knockouts episode.

Both stars had to cut their acts down from eight to just three, and George was first up to pick between his acts.

He first chose Harry Fisher, who had wowed with his stunning cover of Adele's 'Hello'.

"When I first heard the song [he] was going to sing, I thought, 'Oh no, I would never have chosen that particular song'," he said. "I was worried that it would be karaoke, I was really freaked out. But [he] nailed it well and truly."

Next up to land a place on George's team was Vangelis, who had to change his song to Elvis Presley's 'Always On My Mind' when his coach was unimpressed with his original choice - the Spice Girls' 'Viva Forever'.

George hadn't been completely won over by his Knockouts performance, suggesting that it was "a bit unconnected", but in the end he put him through because of his "vocal performance".

Finally, 17-year-old Cody Frost - who George had admitted to being "a little bit in love with" - earned her place in the live shows with a rendition of 'Another Brick In The Wall'.

"We're all looking for someone who can be a real artist that can develop and grow and become something unique," George said. "And I think I've definitely found it in this person."

With George finalising his team, it was up to will.i.am to complete the line-up for the live shows.

His first pick was Lauren Lapsley-Browne, who took on 'Release Me' by Agnes to win her place in Will's top three.

The 18-year-old, who normally works in a bagel shop, was told that she had made it through because she had been "fighting every step of the way".

She was joined by Lyrickal, a beatboxer, rapper and singer who impressed Will with his performance of 'Read All About It' by Emeli Sandé, complete with his own lyrics.

"The decision [he] made today and throughout the competition from the songs [he] chose and how [he] performed - [he's] ready for prime time, big time shine like the sunshine," Will explained.

With just one spot left, Will decided to pick Lydia Lucy for his team after her unusual rendition of Taylor Swift's 'I Knew You Were Trouble' won him over.

And he lavished her with praise when he picked her, explaining that he believes she should be "out right now with records and videos and touring".

Harry, Vangelis, Cody, Lauren, Lyrickal and Lydia Lucy will join Team Paloma's Beth Morris, Heather-Cameron Hayes and Jordan Gray and Team Ricky's Chloe Castro, Jolan and Kevin Simm in the live shows.

They kick off next Saturday (March 26) at 7pm on BBC One.
