There was tension between two campmates in I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! tonight, with Dean McCullough and Alan Halsall clashing.

Saturday's (November 23) episode of the ITV reality show saw new arrivals Maura Higgins and Reverend Richard Coles make their way into the main camp, with Dean accompanying them back after also spending a night at the Jungle Junkyard.

After the group gorged on some hearty food in the Junk Food Buffet following Maura and Richard's challenging eating trial, Jane Moore went out to collect firewood for the camp.

Coronation Street star Alan subsequently attempted to wake Dean from his nap so that he could complete his part of the chore, but Alan swiftly left after the Radio 1 DJ didn't move.

After Jane and Alan began collecting the wood, Dean caught up with the pair and told Alan that he could go back to camp, with Alan reasoning: "I was trying to wake you up as soft as I can."

"Listen to me. If you're gonna wake me up, you need to give me a minute, alright?" Dean responded. "It takes a couple of minutes for my contact lenses to get back working again, alright, so you don't need to say 'Do you not fancy it?' And then turn around and walk away."

"I've listened to you, Jane was halfway down here, that's why I went," said Alan in response, with Dean reiterating that he "needed a minute". Alan then apologised for upsetting Dean.

The pair spoke separately about the matter back at the Bush Telegraph, with Dean saying that he had wanted to help Jane once he had woken up, and Alan emphasising that he hadn't meant to upset his campmate with his "flippant comment".

Dean has had a busy start to his time in the jungle, with the star regularly being selected to endure Bushtucker trials. With multiple withdrawals, he hasn't fared too well in bringing stars back to the camp, with host Ant McPartlin admitting that he had been "frustrated" by Dean's attempts.

"My annoyance came across on screen and I was quite unprofessional and I'm not happy about it," said Ant, who added that he would be a "good cop" when Dean took part in his next trial.

I'm a Celebrity… airs on ITV1 and ITVX.
