I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!'s mention of Rebekah Vardy didn't seem to have gone unnoticed as the TV star appeared to address it on social media.

This season of I'm a Celebrity counts Coleen Rooney amongst its participants. It didn't take long for hosts Ant and Dec to make jokes about the infamous Wagatha Christie row, which saw Vardy suing for defamation after Rooney accused her of leaking stories about her to the press (Vardy denied the allegations).

The libel trial resulted in Vardy's claim being dismissed by the court in July 2022.

"It'll be nice for Coleen to face a trial that doesn't involve Rebekah Vardy," the presenting duo joked during this season premiere, referring to the show's dreaded Bushtucker trials.

Now it seems that Vardy, who had her own stint in the jungle in 2017, has reacted to the Wagatha Christie nod in her Instagram Stories.

Meanwhile, on the current series of I'm a Celeb, Rooney teamed up with Radio 1 DJ Dean McCullough during the first challenge of the show, which premiered last night (November 17) on ITV1.

The pair were up against four other teams for a chance to become camp leaders, but lost to N-Dubz singer Tulisa Contostavlos and Coronation Street's Alan Halsall.

I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! airs every day on ITV1, STV and ITVX, followed each night by I'm A Celebrity… Unpacked on ITV2 and ITVX.
