Seány only got a couple of weeks in the limelight but he managed to use them to full effect and certainly had an impact on proceedings. It appears that the dent he has made in this year’s Big Brother was far more popular inside the house than outside of it.

Finding the reason why is difficult without meeting the gent in person but some people come across far better in real life than on camera. It would appear that while the little rascal was much loved in the house, on screen he could appear shifty and when you add shiftiness to practical joking, it may mot make you the ideal candidate to survive being up for the chop.

Add to this his alliance with the poisonous Laura and his fate was virtually sealed from the moment he faced the vote.

That he was turfed out rather than Jonathan must be particularly irksome because the millionaire contestant can’t have too many fans in the outside world. It’s patently obvious that he regards himself as far superior to the people he has chosen to share the experience with and is never far away from a snide remark or cutting put down. The reason he gets away with it is that many of the people he is having a sly pop at lack the intelligence to realise that that’s what he’s doing. They’ll twig eventually and woe be tide Jonathan when they finally do.

Billi seems to have made a big impact for someone so totally uninteresting. For a start his style means that he looks like a muppet. I’d like to say that he behaves like one as well. Sadly, he’s been nowhere near that entertaining. His key achievement seems to be to have become the fly in the ointment between Ziggy and Chanelle. Fair play to him for that.

Ziggy it seems was happy to be with Chanelle as long as it was good for his image and Ziggy’s image seems all-important to him. Even Charley isn’t quite so self absorbed. The key point is that if he’s prepared to cast Chanelle aside because he thought the ramifications were making him look bad than he patently didn’t care two hoots for her in the first place.

Ziggy seems terrified of looking like an idiot but it’s too late, he already looks a prize prat and there is absolutely no one to blame but Ziggy for that situation. The annoying thing was that at one point I actually felt sorry for the vacuous Chanelle and I really bear a grudge against Ziggy for making me feel like that.

He'll be gutted when he gets out to realise that even Pat Sharp can command more respect than he can.

Liam is already a much richer man than when he went in and to be honest it’s been worth every penny of the hundred grand because Nicky has been far more bearable since she set her cap at him. Of course she is one of the biggest whingers in the history of the show so I’m sure things won’t be all sweetness and light for ever, but the respite we’ve had for her once constant carping has been most welcome.

Brian seems to be biding his time to some extent. It’s still early days but I get the impression that he’s in to win rather than just savour the experience and I’m sure we’ll see more of his personality as other characters disappear. I’d say he was pretty good value in the betting at the moment.

The twins began to have more an impact in the last week, or at least Amanda did. Indeed she seems to be overshadowing Sam somewhat at this stage. I’m becoming more and more convinced that they have a clever game plan but I’m not entirely sure just what that is as yet. I think they are in for the long haul.

Best moment of the week was easily when Seány sent Charley – Gucci boots n’ all – flying into the pool. It was very funny moment indeed, timed perfectly to prick the bubble of Charley’s pomposity and yet another reason why we need to make sure that however much she behaves outrageously we keep her in.

I know it’s wrong to laugh at rather laugh with someone, but Charley has been pure entertainment gold and is easily at her funniest when she’s at her angriest. The reasons many of you are desperate to get her out are actually the reasons why we desperately need to keep her in.

The more I see of Gerry, the more convinced I am he’s playing a carefully controlled part. Maybe he’s being natural but if he’d studied DVDs of Nadia before entering I wouldn’t be at all surprised. Keep an eye on this one, he’s a master of the soundbite and seems to know exactly how to behave to ensure that he gets more than his fair share of screen time. He’s not just along for the ride.
