Celebs Go Dating star Chris Taylor has opened up about his mental health struggles, revealing he used to experience "really bad anxiety".

In a candid chat with his date Lou during the reality show's latest episode, Chris shared: "I used to have really, really bad anxiety, social anxiety."

However, Chris explained that he has since managed to overcome his anxiety "through doing loads of random TV stuff and pushing myself outside my comfort zone".

"And now I think I can be myself," he added.

"I became friends with Maura, and then... yeah, like, we were mates for ages, and then it kind of progressed into other things," the reality star told experts Paul Carrick Brunson, Anna Williamson and Dr Tara Suwinyattichaiporn.

Chris then revealed that he loved Maura, but hadn't believed the feelings were mutual.

"It sounds very painful," said Anna, to which Chris replied: "It was."

After receiving some advice from Anna and Paul, Chris admitted that it's not "fun" for him to be "vulnerable and open".

"I feel comfortable around the agents talking about it. It doesn't make it any easier," he added.
