Love Island star Matilda Draper has announced her split from co-star Sean Stone a month after leaving the villa.

Matilda and Sean, who met during this year's summer series, made it to the final where they placed in third after runners up Nicole and Ciaran and 2024 winners Mimii and Josh.

Confirming the breakup via her Instagram stories on Wednesday (August 28), Matilda wrote: "Just wanted to come on here and tell you guys that Sean and I have decided to part ways.

The couple, who had a turbulent time on the ITV2 dating show, had only recently opened up about their future, saying they were excited to enjoy some quality time together in the real world.

Speaking to Digital Spy earlier this month, Sean told us: "I feel like we want to spend more time with each other, spend time with friends and family, take Matilda to Hertford, spend time with each other on holiday.

"I've got a few things planned. Just date nights and enjoying the freedom of this new life we're going into. It's all very exciting, and I'm looking forward to it."

Matilda added: "Just carry on dating, having new experiences together. We've got so many firsts we're about to have. It's just so exciting."

Love Island airs on ITV2 and streams on ITVX.
