Love Island fans were fuming on social media as ITVX crashed on launch night of the new summer series.
Returning to our screens for its eleventh outing tonight (June 3), the dating show hosted by Maya Jama kicked off at 9pm for a scheduled 90-minute premiere episode, but those hoping to tune in on ITV's streaming platform had great difficulty in meeting the latest singletons until the first commercial break.
Digital Spy has reached out to ITV for comment.

Reacting on X, one Love Island viewer raged: "@ITVX what is wrong with you why are you not working DURING THE FIRST NIGHT OF #LoveIsland A TRUEEE CRIMEEE."
"Took me 15 minutes for itv app to work @ITVX get it sorted it never works," added a second person, before a third inconvenienced fan wrote: "itvx is down for love island what am i supposed to make a conversation about at work tomorrow."

Eventually they did, and fortunately for Love Island enthusiasts they were able to apply the 'restart' option when streaming, meaning they didn't miss a second of the drama.

This comes after 2024 Islander Mimii Ngulube addressed the format's apparent lack of diversity ahead of entering the villa.
"Just because the recent years I feel like they've very much improved. Obviously [this year], I'm not too sure who's going in or anything like that, so I don't know if it's just going to be me [who's coloured] or not. But I'm pretty sure it'll be fine," she told Radio Times.
"I don't feel any pressure or anything of that thought because the way I am will show, culturally anyway."
Love Island airs on ITV2 and streams on ITVX.
