Richard Madeley has confirmed that ITV News at Ten presenter Rageh Omaar should return to screens "soon", after he fell ill while on air last week.
Omaar was broadcasting live last Friday (April 26) when he appeared to become unwell, sparking concern from viewers. The programme was subsequently pulled from airing on ITV+1.
Providing ITV viewers with an update on the newsreader’s health while presenting Monday’s instalment of Good Morning Britain, Madeley shared: "Apparently he's making a good recovery at home."

ITV released a statement from Omaar on Saturday, in which he thanked viewers and his colleagues for their concern.
"I would like to thank everyone for their kindness and good wishes, especially all the medical staff, all my wonderful colleagues at ITV News, and our viewers who expressed concern," he said.
"At the time, I was determined to finish presenting the programme. I am grateful for all the support I’ve been given."
Meanwhile, ITV's own statement read: "We appreciate viewers of last night’s News at Ten were concerned about Rageh Omaar’s wellbeing. Following medical treatment at hospital, he is now recovering at home with his family.

"We are wishing Rageh a speedy recovery and look forward to him being back on screen when he feels ready."
Elsewhere on ITV last week, Susanna Reid was forced to apologise to viewers after a guest swore live on GMB.
Labour MP and Shadow Home Secretary Yvette Cooper had been discussing Prime Minister Rishi Sunak's recently-passed Rwanda bill when she claimed: "The Home Secretary himself has described it as batshit."
"Sorry, we can't use that word on television," Reid quickly interjected. Cooper also apologised.
Good Morning Britain airs weekday mornings on ITV.
