This morning Big Brother had a surprise for the housemates.
An alarm sounding much like that of an ambulance woke them at 8am. Once most had at least stirred there was an announcement: “This is Dr Big, could one housemate come to the diary room.”
Roberto went to 'Dr Big' and was given a laminate:
- This week's task will test their first-aid skill as the house is transformed into a hospital
- The Big Brother hospital will be run by matron and three nurses
- The housemate reading the laminate is matron
What to Read Next
- The matron is to choose three nurses (Roberto chose Vanessa, Saskia and Science)
- The remaining housemates are patients
- Every time the ambulance sounds one patient must go to diary room within one minute
- In the diary room Dr Big will diagnose and prescribe treatment
- All housemates will be given uniform. Matron is to ensure these are worn correctly. They must be worn all the time except when sleeping or showering
- The siren may go off any time day and night - as soon as it goes off the patient will have to go to the diary room
- A patient can go to the diary room more than once
- At least 2 nurses should be waiting outside to treat the patient; when the patient emerges they should take the patient to the treatment table. The nurse will have 30 minutes to carry out the treatment prescribed
- The instructions for treatment given by Dr Big should be read out loud by matron or a nurse
- A medical handbook has been provided, the nurses and matron must familiarise themselves with it
- The medical equipment may only be used by the matron or nurses and only under the instruction of Dr Big
- The skeleton called Humphrey must only be used under instruction from Dr Big
- Failing to do any of these things results in one fail, up to 2 fails are allowed per day
- Passing the task will mean they are rewarded with a luxury food budget
Helpfully, Dr Big's last comment on the laminate was: "And remember, an apple a day keeps the doctor away."
