ITV presenter Lorraine Kelly has shared her reaction to the viral fan account 'Where Is Lorraine?'.

The account set up on X, formerly Twitter, tweets a daily tally of how many times Kelly has hosted her morning show since the start of the year and currently has 12,500 followers.

During an appearance on BBC Radio 4's Woman's Hour, Kelly was asked if she was aware of the account and what her thoughts were of it.

"I know, the amount of space I occupy in people's heads is quite bizarre," she said, adding: "It's hilarious."

"It's fine, I don't mind. I don't care. I probably would have cared before, but I really don't now. It's absolutely fine," she continued.

During the radio interview, Kelly shared a personal reason as to why she's been absent from her show of late.

"To be honest, you should never comment on things like that if you don't know what is going on in people's lives," she said. "But I am having to take quite a few Fridays off because my mum really isn't well.

"So I can go home now and spend some more time with her and help her a bit more than I've been able to. That's happening just now, but that will change."

The fan account responded to Kelly's interview, tweeting: "It feels apt to say now that of course we respect that Lorraine may need more time away to look after her mother.

"There is, and never has been, any malice behind this account. It is all for fun and we are happy that @reallorraine seems to understand that."

Kelly has been presenting her namesake show for almost 15 years now, with the programme premiering back in 2010.

Lorraine airs on weekday mornings from 9am on ITV.
