Stacey Solomon has explained her Loose Women absence as she returned to the show.

On Wednesday (November 8), Stacey appeared on the ITV panel show for the first time since last December and told her co-hosts why it's been such a long time.

"I'm so happy to be here. I feel like I've missed it so much!" she said.

"So I've just been up and down the country with Sort Your Life Out and filming another show, Bricking It, so I haven't been able to even get into town!"

She concluded: "Finally, filming has died down, and I actually get to be with my friends again. I'm so excited! I've missed you for a catch-up. I've needed it — it's like therapy coming here!"

Last month, ITV denied rumours that Stacey was planning to step down from Loose Women due to her commitment to the other shows.

"These claims are not true," a spokesperson for the channel said. "We are looking forward to welcoming Stacey back onto the show soon."

And indeed, she is back — although she may take another break if and when filming for Sort Your Life Out and other shows pick up again.

In Wednesday's episode, Stacey sat on the panel alongside Judi Love, Katie Piper and Kaye Adams, while Ross Kemp appeared as a guest to discuss his recently released memoir, Take Nothing for Granted.

Loose Women airs on weekdays at 12.30pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
