Strictly Come Dancing's Eddie Kadi and Karen Hauer have revealed their reaction to getting the first 10 of the series.

The couple received the honour during Movie Week after choosing a street dance routine to the Men in Black theme tune as their couple's choice, which impressed Shirley Ballas enough for her to give them her maximum score.

Speaking about the score during today's (October 11) episode of It Takes Two, comedian and radio presenter Eddie told host Janette Manrara he couldn't believe he received the first 10 of the series.

"It was like, 'What is happening?'," he said, recalling the moment Shirely awarded the top score. "I almost turned to Karen like, 'What does this mean?'"

"I really enjoyed that 10. First of all, on week three, I was like, 'Is that really happening, to me? To us?'" Karen said. "It felt amazing. I'm still in shock."

Eddie added that he had a lot of respect for the "craft" of street dancing, while Karen revealed she'd always loved that style of dancing, having previously received a 10 for a street dance with Jamie Laing in 2020.

"It just feels really natural," she said. "Being able to share that with Eddie was fantastic."

Eddie previously spoke to Digital Spy about his decision to take part in the series, revealing he felt his Congolese heritage would give him the edge in the competition.

"Being Congolese, we like moving our hips for no reason," he said. "But I don't feel the pressure because it's fun. It's just a natural part of me, I've always loved dancing. So for me, when everyone's talking about snakey hips, bring it on."

Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturdays and Sundays on BBC One, while spin-off Strictly: It Takes Two airs on weeknights on BBC Two. Both shows are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.

Tickets for Strictly's 2024 live arena tour are available now.
