Married at First Sight UK star Jess Potter has opened up about the devastating miscarriage she has suffered after undergoing IVF treatment.

The reality star, who has been sharing her and boyfriend TJ O'Reilly's IVF journey on social media over the past few weeks, revealed the heartbreaking news in a video posted to Instagram today (September 28).

"I'm sitting outside work...so yesterday I started bleeding a little bit and this morning I started passing some clots and stuff," she began.

Jess, who is a dental hygienist, continued: "I'm having a miscarriage which is f***ing shit. I'm sitting outside work, just trying to put on a brave face because I've got to speak to patients all day and it's really shit.

"I haven't slept and I'm in a bit of pain and obviously I'm having a miscarriage, so it's f***ing shit. But it is what it is, there is not much you can do.

"I've just got to wait a couple of months before we can have another round I guess. But I was really convinced it was going to work, that's the hardest bit. I really thought it was going to work. But yeah, I just thought I'd update everyone anyway."

In the caption, Jess said that she initially "wasn't sure" whether or not to post the video, but ultimately decided it was important to share her story and shed light on the "harsh but true reality of IFV and infertility".

"Nothing is certain. Now time to heal. Mentally and physically," she concluded.

The post's comment section has since been flooded with people sending their love and thoughts to the couple for their loss.
