Love Island's Davide Sanclimenti has announced a split from Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu.

Davide made the news official in an Instagram story on Thursday (June 29), less than a year after the couple were crowned the winning couple of Love Island last summer.

"[Ekin-Su] and I are no longer together," he wrote.

Ekin-Su has yet to release a statement of her own on the split.

Mere days after the couple won Love Island last summer, ITV handed them a spin-off series called Ekin-Su and Davide: Homecomings where they visited one another's home countries of Turkey and Italy.

Engagement rumours soon followed, with Davide later hinting that the pair only had "really good intentions for the future".

"We're probably going to get married so I feel like I've got everything I wanted," he told Metro around Valentine's Day.

More recently, Ekin-Su has opened up about the darker side of fame as she admitted that she has lost friendships in the last year.

"Unfortunately, with the fame, you see people’s true colours. People just want to be your friend because of your status and it’s a hard industry to trust," she explained to Cosmopolitan a few weeks ago.

"People I’d known for 10 years who were in my life… selling stories is not very nice. I wouldn’t do that to someone."
