The Great British Bake Off star Laura Adlington has shared an inspiring body-positive post on Instagram.

The baker, who was a runner-up in the 2020 Channel 4 series, took to Instagram where she posted a reel of her hanging out on the beach wearing a black swimsuit and then a bikini.

The voiceover on the reel said: "I don't think everyone loves their body all the time. Some days you really hate it. I think it's always a spectrum. Some days you feel really good about your body. But on every day it's there and acceptance and the freedom that comes from acceptance rests on that day when you can say 'Hey, this is what I look like' and I'm cool with that."

Adlington posted the reel with the caption: "I don't think it's always realistic to love your body. Accepting it and not letting it hold you back is where it's at… for me at least. Thank you for these wise words @mynameisjessamyn."

She often posts about plus-sized fashion and body positivity, including a recent post of her on the beach where she encouraged her followers to "wear the damn bikini".

Things are changing over at GGBO as co-host Matt Lucas has quit after three years and he is "cheerfully passing the baguette" to a new co-host to join Noel Fielding.

"Farewell Bake Off," he wrote. "It's been a delicious experience and I can't imagine a more fun way of spending my summers, but it's become clear to me I can't present both Fantasy Football League and Bake Off alongside my other projects."

He sent his "warmest thanks and gratitude" to Noel, Paul Hollywood, Prue Leith and the rest of the Bake Off team as he leaves the tent.

"I wish whoever takes over all the very best and I can't wait to tune into the next series without already knowing who won," he added.

The Great British Bake Off airs on Channel 4 in the UK. In the US, it's known as The Great British Baking Show, and streams on Netflix.
