Dianne Buswell has revealed that Strictly Come Dancing's Shirley Ballas personally apologised to her after the judge mistakenly called her the wrong name.

During the November 5 live show, Ballas was giving feedback to the pro dancer and her partner Tyler West when she incorrectly called Buswell "Diana".

On Wednesday's It Takes Two, Buswell shared that Ballas has since apologised for her slip-up.

“She actually apologised to me personally as well and said it was an honest mistake, this happens!" she said. “My pop actually did call me Diana all the time, so I quite like it!

“But we’re all human, aren't we? We're doing the best we can, and sometimes people make mistakes. And I don’t want anyone to come at her just for that. I’m not bothered.”

Buswell recently spoke about the incident on her Instagram account, saying: “I have seen a lot of hateful comments aimed at Shirley for simply adding an 'a' to the end of my name which doesn't offend me – but what does make me upset is someone being bullied online.

“We are all human and doing the best we can. [Let's] all please be kind to one another and not put each other down."
