Strictly Come Dancing aired its annual Movie Week over the weekend, with the stars and their professional dance partners cosplaying as various characters from the silver screen and jigging about to some iconic theme tunes.

EastEnders star James Bye dressed up as Guardians of the Galaxy's Chris Pratt, or rather, Star-Lord, alongside Amy Dowden as Zoe Saldaña's Gamora. They danced to Blue Swede's 'Hooked on a Feeling', which was used in the first Guardians film and its marketing extensively.

Sharing a clip of their performance on Twitter, the Guardians trilogy's director James Gunn joked: "Can’t decide whether I should keep this scene in Vol 3. Let me know what you think below."

Most of the comments in response were American fans not knowing what Strictly was, or British fans excited to know that Gunn is aware of the show. Could the director give the EastEnders star a cameo because of the routine?

Movie Week also featured comedian Jayde Adams donning a leotard to dance to 'Flashdance... What a Feeling' by Irene Cara. The performance was praised by the judges and fans alike for being positive representation for larger people.

"This week for me is all about showing that dancers come in all different shapes and sizes," Jayde said. "You don't have to look a certain way in order to make people feel happy."

We also saw our first (and second) 10 of the series handed out to one contestant, with Shirley Ballas stating: "It's never too early for that 10 from Shirley."

But it wasn't all great news, as one celebrity had to be sent home after facing the dreaded dance-off.

Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturdays and Sundays on BBC One, while spin-off show Strictly: It Takes Two airs on weeknights on BBC Two. Both shows also stream on BBC iPlayer.
