Love Island star Paige Thorne's family have spoken out following the exit of Jacques O'Neill, the controversial contestant who Paige was previously paired up with.

Her family, who are currently running her Instagram page, posted a Story that asks for fans to not criticise her for remaining in the villa.

"Little note that #BeKind applies to Paige too," the Story reads. "If she decides to leave the villa, that is her own decision, and she has no obligation to follow Jacques – this is her experience just as much as his.

"There is only 2.5 weeks left of her once-in-a-lifetime experience, let's not see her come out to negativity."

Jacques told Paige that he wanted her to remain in the villa and that he would wait for her when she got out, but after what went down between him and Cheyanne Kerr in Casa Amor, will she want to reconnect with him or will she pursue a romance with somebody else?

The latter might happen, as returning Islander Adam Collard has been stirring the pot and planting seeds of doubt in her mind about whether she should give Jacques another chance.

"I've dated a lot of people and I've done all of that, and I've been seeing people. But, like, when I've been with someone, I've been 100% with them," he said.

"Coming off the back of this, everyone's gonna get attention, everyone's gonna get loads of attention. But I've kind of been there and done it. I don't need to get that out of my system like some boys do.

"I don't want to exactly say this 'cause I'm not that type of guy, but I feel like some of the guys here will want to do that."

Love Island airs daily on ITV2 and is available to catch up on via ITV Hub.
