Love Island spoilers follow.

Tonight's (June 13) episode of Love Island saw a shock departure and a tease of two new bombshells. It was also extremely loved up as couples got their flirt on.

Towards the end of the episode, the Islanders were called to the firepit for a surprise dumping. And in a move that did not come off as much of a surprise to the viewers, the new guy, Jacques, who is also Gemma's ex boyfriend, had to choose between Afia and Paige. In the end, he went with Paige, sending Afia packing and out of the villa.

He reasoned that during the first day, he spoke to Paige and got to know her a bit better, saying: "We're getting on more and more and I'd like to see where this goes," before choosing her to stay.

Speaking of her time in the villa, Afia said that she'll miss everyone there, but she is optimistic the right man for her is out there. "Obviously I'm going to miss everyone in the villa but I'm going to keep trying to find love. I'm sure Mr Right is out there somewhere," she said.

"I've learned that I can be a bit shy and it takes me a bit of time to come out of my shell. But I maybe learned to put myself out there a bit more. I did learn a few things," she added.

But before all of that, we got to see Luca tell Jaques that he was going to kiss his ex-girlfriend Gemma. He joked that he felt like a schoolboy around her, but he confidently asserted that he would like to get to know her more.

Meanwhile, Amber and Dami went to the tennis courts for their first date. While there, they ended up having a heart-to-heart. Dami's competitive streak came out as he suggested: "I'll do this for a peck, whoever wins, gets a peck."

After the game, they both sat down for a drink and some strawberries where they discussed their families and relationship plans, and Amber playfully commented on his competitive streak: "You hate losing, don't you?"

Dami then said: "It's a good thing though because then that means I won't lose you in this villa, it's a good thing."

"So you're wanting to keep me, then?" Amber asked, to which Dani replied with an affirmative.

As the date went on, Amber put her cards on the table: "I feel like that for the moment, I am happy to get to know you, I am not really looking at any of the other guys."

She later asked Dami who would be his dream girl to which he replies: "If she looked like you, then I would be happy, so you'd need to have a twin in here for me to turn my head."

Feeding each other strawberries as the date drew to a close, Amber and Dami then shared a romantic kiss.

They weren't the only couple who shared a kiss. Ikenna and Indiyah also kissed as they were cuddled up in the garden. "Sometimes it is nice to know that you're feeling me, that you're interested or if it's reciprocated," she said.

At the end of the episode, the show teased two new bombshells – Jay and Remi – which had social media clamouring over how beautiful they looked.

Love Island airs on ITV2 and is available via catch up on ITV Hub and Britbox.
