Love Island receives huge volumes of applications every year, drawing young singles in with its promise of love, money and potential brand deals after the show.
This year, one of the contestants who successfully made it through the rigorous audition process is paramedic Paige Thorne. But how did she seal the deal?
She said (via Radio Times): "I think it was just, like, the shortest clip ever, because I didn't want to cringe anyone out too much.

"I was basically getting ready for a night out and I think I said something along the lines of, 'I like my life, I'm a vibe, put me in there and see what happens'. And that was literally it – just a little 30 second clip and that was it."
Whoever is running Paige's Instagram while she's on the show also let slip how she managed to keep her plans to enter the Love Island villa a secret: Paige has spent the last few weeks telling her Instagram followers that she was on a "work trip" as a cover-up.

This year's series is kicking off with a big twist, as the first couplings will be decided by the viewers instead of the Islanders.
However, the new starting line-up has again resulted in discussion over the show's lack of diversity.

Former contestant Sharon Gaffka was among those who raised the topic, saying: "Diversity comes in lots of different boxes, it's not just ethnicity.
"There is a little bit of more diversity than other previous series in terms of body size, but again, I'd still think that the producers could have done a little bit more in terms of body diversity. We stereotypically see men with six packs, women being very, very petite."
Love Island airs on ITV2 and is available via catch up on ITV Hub and Britbox.
