Ex-Love Island contestant Amy Hart has encouraged her female fans to book in for smear tests, amidst her own health scare.

The star, who found fame on the fifth series of Love Island in 2019, took to Instagram on Friday to bring fans up to date and share her medical concerns, after an earlier set of smear test results following a HPV positive result.

Hart opened up to her followers in a Q&A, and said that she will need to have another test later this year.

Most smear tests are routine, meaning that they may not be seen as a top priority, but Hart reminded her fans that it is nevertheless important to get checked.

Hart is not the only Islander to speak out about health issues. In 2020, Molly-Mae Hague encouraged her fans to get skin screenings after having a malignant mole removed from her leg.

Hague has had further skin concerns, publicly pleading for help from her fans to deal with her "angry" pimples, for spot cream recommendations and for assistance diagnosing a large lump on her finger.

Hague has also been open about her endometriosis and how she went through a hard recovery process following surgery.
