Dan Walker has said "the best four dancers" are in the semi-finals on Strictly Come Dancing following his exit over the weekend.
The BBC Breakfast presenter and his partner Nadiya Bychkova lost out on a place in the Strictly Come Dancing 2021 semi-final in a heartbreaker on Sunday when they fell into the bottom two against AJ Odudu and Kai Widdrington.
The departing duo dropped by It Takes Two on Monday (December 6), where Walker told presenter Rylan it was right for him to be eliminated.
"We did ten weeks of the competition without ever being in the dance-off," he pointed out. "Having never danced before, and being fearful of the dance floor when I started out, to get to week 11, we knew it was going to come at some stage, didn't we?
"Because everyone in the competition is so good. I think the important thing is, the best four dancers are in the semi-final... As I said in the dance-off, I would have put AJ and Kai through as well.

Walker also said he was thrilled to have gone out on his "best dance". At one point in the interview, Nadiya Bychkova was overcome with emotion about their partnership and actually credited Walker with giving her "wings to fly again".
Prior to his exit interview on It Takes Two, Dan reignited his war of words with rival Piers Morgan when the former Good Morning Britain presenter mocked his time on the show.
When Morgan mocked him for "coming in fifth" overall, Dan referenced his rival's famous GMB walk-off: "Morning. I did think about walking off when @CraigRevHorwood gave me some grief in week 2 but… who does that?"
Ouch!
Strictly Come Dancing 2021 airs on Saturday nights on BBC One, with results shows every Sunday. Strictly: It Takes Two airs on weeknights at 6.30pm on BBC Two.
