Taskmaster's Champion of Champions 2 edition will consist of just one episode this year.
Series 9 king Ed Gamble provided the disappointing update on a recent episode of the Taskmaster podcast, whilst chatting to Mel Giedroyc.
The previous Champion of Champions was split across two episodes, and many fans assumed the second would be the same.

"We've filmed the tasks for that already," Gamble said, before going on to suggest that his co-star Richard Herring was "very" competitive.
"But I think everyone is, I think you need to be to win," Gamble pointed out, joking, "I think that's probably why it's good that it's one episode, because I think it'd probably get quite shouty."

Earlier this summer, co-host 'Little' Alex Horne encouraged Champion of Champions fans to watch out for "special" changes in this year's opening title sequence.
"I don't know if I can reveal anything," he began while speaking to Radio Times, "except... I tell you what I can reveal... we had a good idea about the opening titles, which I think people will really enjoy.
"So hopefully it's going to feel special from the very first second."
Taskmaster airs on Channel 4. A new Champion of Champions special is also expected to premiere later this year.
