Coronation Street actress Beverley Callard is making it awkward in the I'm a Celebrity castle — and, no, we're not talking about the controversy over her participation in the trials.
Whether or not the soap icon takes part in the next Trial, she definitely performed the staggering feat of putting her foot firmly in her mouth during Tuesday's episode (November 24) by accidentally insulting Vernon Kay.
The campmates were discussing reality TV when the late, great celebrity diving competition Splash was mentioned.

Beverley was pretty candid with her thoughts about the aquatic competition, admitting she thought Splash was a "stupid" show.

Apparently, the Liz McDonald actress didn't realise that her campmate Vernon actually hosted the show alongside Gabby Logan for two series.
When Vernon pointed out that Splash "kept the central heating on" for his family, Beverley was immediately mortified by her gaffe.
"Oh no, I'm so sorry, Vernon," she insisted. "I'm so sorry! I'm so sorry!"

Luckily for Bev, everyone fell about laughing because they knew she meant no harm with her flippant comment about the show that once crowned Eddie 'The Eagle' Edwards the King of the Cannonball.
"I wanted to curl up and die, poor Vernon. I'm notorious for putting my foot in it, and I really did there," she admitted.
The first step is admitting you have a problem, Bev.
