The Masked Singer confirmed the first contestant to be eliminated from the show this evening (January 4), and it was none other than EastEnders favourite Patsy Palmer.

Dressed in an elaborate butterfly outfit, the soap star was booted out by the judging panel (Jonathan Ross, Rita Ora, Davina McCall and Ken Jeong) after failing to impress the voting public – although they had nothing to go on other than her voice, costume and a few small clues about her identity.

Removing her mask, the judges were left gobsmacked as they'd previously guessed the mystery singer was TV presenter Cat Deeley or Strictly: It Takes Two host Zoe Ball.

Meanwhile, Patsy reflected on what made her take on this massive challenge.

"I love singing in general (not that I'm any good) but it's an extremely uplifting thing to do," she said. "I love music, it's a total passion of mine (I DJ) so I'm constantly playing music.
