Will Bayley has been forced to pull out of Strictly Come Dancing due to his knee injury.

The Paralympian sat out of last week’s show after falling off a table during rehearsals and hurting his leg.

However, in a statement issued today (October 30), it was revealed that Will won't be able to return to the competition at all.

Speaking about the shock exit, executive producer, Sarah James said: "We are so sad that Will is unable to continue on the show.

"He is an incredible and talented person who has brought us some unforgettable moments this series – in particular his powerful and moving couples choice routine. He will be greatly missed and we wish him a speedy recovery."

"I've loved being part of the show, and am so grateful for the phenomenal support we have received," he explained.

"I want to say a special thank you to Janette for believing in me, and giving me the confidence to believe in myself.

"The things we achieved, from our couple’s choice dance, through to the lifts in our salsa, will stay with me forever. I’ve had the time of my life."

Janette went on to say: "Absolutely devastated that Will and I will not be able to continue dancing.

"We made some incredible memories that I will never forget, and I am pleased to have shared them with such an inspirational person who I can now call a friend for life."

Will isn't the only star this series to have to drop out of the show.

Made In Chelsea star Jamie Laing also had to pull out when he also suffered an injury before the BBC show started.

He tore his ligament and had to use crutches, meaning he couldn’t continue to rehearse with partner Oti Mabuse.

Jamie was replaced by Emmerdale star Kelvin Fletcher, who is currently one of the favourites to win.

Speaking after his exit, Jamie said: "It was like stepping on glass. I grabbed Oti and said, 'Something's happened, something has happened in my foot' and she said 'Just dance!'

"The show must go on and being British, you just smile and go through the entire thing."
