Jessie J returned to The Voice franchise tonight (June 8) by joining the coaching panel on the kids show.

The 'Nobody's Perfect' singer held a coaching role on the adult version during its first two series back in 2012 and 2013, so this is something of a homecoming for the singer – and viewers at home couldn't have been happier to see her.

Jessie took part in the traditional opening performance from the coaches, too, booming out a rendition of David Bowie's 'Heroes' alongside Pixie Lott, will.i.am and McFly's Danny Jones.

Taking to social media, The Voice Kids' excited fanbase shared their collective pleasure for the return of Jessie, who spent much of the opening episode shedding tears during the kids' amazing performances.

Meanwhile, the chart-topping singer recently spoke to Digital Spy and other media about what makes The Voice Kids stand out compared to the platform for older singers.

"What is great with the kids one is there is no years and years of resentment or rejection or anger that they've got," she explained.

"Not all of them had that in the adults one, I don't want to make it sound like they are all desperate or falling apart, but [with the kids one] there's just this like fun, party, they are just so excited to be there."

The Voice Kids UK returns next week (June 15) at 8pm on ITV.
