Big Brother 4's Federico Martone has revealed that he turned down an offer to appear in the last series.

The former housemate told STV that he was too busy to be part of Ultimate Big Brother, which wrapped on Channel 4 earlier this month.

"When I was approached I was already very occupied with tying together the various nuances of an International art exhibition and thus knew that it'd be impossible to do," he said. "I was also aware that my business partner, Shahin, views Big Brother as a repugnant part of western society. He would have flat out murdered me if I'd have done it."

Federico, who was famously known for referring to the women of Newcastle as "slags" during his stint in the BB4 house in 2003, recently opened the Gaia Gallery in Glasgow.
